Low Carb Menu

Low Carb Menu – Taste And Style

You are going on a low carb diet, but you are not sure how to put the allowable foods together to make an appetizing menu, that fits your low carbohydrate diet plan. You will also need menus to do your shopping for lower carbohydrates foods. If you need some help you can go on line and find a sample low carb menu for any of the popular lower carb diets.

Dr. Atkins in his book “ Dr Atkins’ New diet revolution” gives a week’s worth of sample menus for the induction phase of his low carb diet and a one day menu for each of the phases. A typical lower carb one day menu for the induction phase could read like this, Breakfast: Southwestern omelet with tomato, avocado and ham, decaf coffee with cream. Lunch: Ceasar Salad with grilled chicken. Dinner: Steak au poive, roasted asparagus, mixed green salad with lemon vinagrette. Gelatin dessert made with sucralose. Snack: celery stuffed with herb cream cheese.

When dining out most restaurants do not have low carb meals on their menus but you can ask to have the steak without the baked potato or fries, and have the waiter remove the bread from the table. Some chain restaurants like T.G.I Friday’s have several lower carb items on their menu. Also the fast food chains Burger King, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. also have low carbohydrate burgers without the bun and Hardee’s and Carl Jr. also serve lower carb breakfast bowls.
