Low Carb Treats – Enjoyment

It seems like every day a new low carb food product appears on the shelves of the local supermarket and many of these are low carb treats and snacks. Ben and Jerry’s ice cream makers has a line of ice cream that is low in carbs. Other treats low in carbs are Blue Moon Carb Concepts pizza (with pepperoni only 7 carbs per slice) and Skinny Carb Bar ice cream bars are only 2 carbohydrates per bar. Other low carb ice creams are Le Carb, and Velvet, at between 6 and 16 carbs in a ½ cup serving.

Another low carb ice cream, at 3 carbs per serving is “Keto.” This brand even has an ice cream mix at only 3-4 carbs per serving. There are freezer low carbohydrate treats and sherbet mixes also lower in carbs than their mainstream counterparts. Every convenience store gas station and pharmacy nowadays touts low carb snack bars, cookies and other “on the go” treats. Soft drink, beer, and wine and spirits companies have all jumped on the low carb bandwagon and now produce low carb versions of some products.

You can also make your own lower carb treats. There are recipes for cookies cakes, pies, candies and other goodies in low carb cookbooks, and on the web at sites devoted to low carb recipes. You can even find recipes for dozens of varieties of low carb cheesecakes, muffins and quick breads. Name your favorite treat, there is probably a low carb version on the web or in a local store.
