Detoxification Diet Plan

Detoxification Diet Plan – Get Ready

A detoxification diet plan is based on the premise that the food we eat puts toxins into our bodies and may cause allergies and chronic ailments. Proponents of detoxification diet plans believe that such a diet can relieve or even cure these conditions. A detox diet begins with a 3 day water fast. You consume nothing but purified water for 72 hours. During this phase of a detoxifying diet you are advised to reduce your activity and avoid extremes in temperature.

After the 3 day initial detoxifying period is over you go on a week long monographic diet, which is a fruit only diet and you may only consume one type of fruit at each meal. For instance a detox breakfast might consist of oranges, lunch could be melons only. A late afternoon snack of 12oz glass of high pressed carrot juice is permitted on this diet plan, and then bananas for dinner.

At all meals on a detox diet you may eat as much as you want of a single type of fruit to feel satisfied. You may resume non-strenuous housework or light office duties during this time but physical exertion is not recommended while you are detoxifying. Okay, now you have survived a 3 day water fast and seven days of a fruit only detoxification diet, surely you must be detoxified. Wrong! You are not yet detoxified. Ten days on a detox diet and you still have a month to go.

For the next 30 days the detox diet permits only raw fruits and vegetables. Nothing cooked can be consumed during this stage of your diet to detoxify. This time around you may mix the fruits and or vegetables at any meal. Be sure to eat enough of these foods to feel satisfied when detox dieting.
