Atkins Diet Induction – The Beginning Of The New You

Atkins diet induction is like boot camp for dieters, the rules are very restrictive and the things learned can save your life. While on this phase of the Atkins diet you’ll learn how to choose the right foods and develop healthy eating habits to follow the rest of your life. For the first two weeks of induction, at least, the Atkins diet allows you to eat lots of meat, fish, eggs, cheese, butter and cream, and very little else besides green leafy vegetables. The Atkins induction diet has 12 rules to help ensure your success on Atkins.

Briefly summarized, the 12 rules include do not skip meals or go for prolonged periods of time (6 hours) without eating. Eat liberal amounts of protein, fats and vegetable oils, while on the Atkins diet. Consume no more then 20 grams of carbs daily while on the induction phase.

Absolutely no fruit, bread, pasta, grains or dairy except cheese, cream and butter, and no nuts or seeds the first two weeks. While in the induction phase of the Atkins diet, eat nothing that isn’t on the acceptable food list. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. You also need to take the nutritional supplements, especially during the early stages of your Atkins diet.

The Atkins diet is designed so that you’ll start losing weight almost immediately. 3-5 pounds weekly isn’t an unusual amount of weight to lose while on the induction diet, and you can stay at this level for as long as you need to. Dr. Atkins reported on one woman who stayed at the induction level of the Atkins diet, with no ill effects, for two years! So go ahead and start on the induction phase of the Atkins diet, you’ll be glad you did.
