Atkins Diet Book – Are You Ready

The most widely read Atkins diet book, is “Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.” The book fully explains why Atkins works, how to do Atkins now and for life, understanding health and well being, disease prevention and food and recipes. Part one of the Atkins book, describes his goals for clients, what he believes makes and keeps us fat and puts us at risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some cancers. He also explains why one should choose a low carb diet over a low fat one.

Part 2 of the Atkins book describes the four phases of Dr. Atkins low carb diet. Phase 1, or induction, lasts a minimum of two weeks and is the most restrictive stage of this diet. The ongoing weight loss phase [O.W.L.] liberalizes your diet by slowly increasing your carb allowance. The pre-maintenance phase of Atkins allows an even larger carb count. Finally the maintenance phase is where you add even more carbs. Another of Atkins diet books is “Diet Revolution”, published in 1972, it was the 1st book to prescribe a low carbohydrate diet. In 1992 Atkins published his most popular and best selling book “Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution”. It is a totally revised and less controversial edition of “Diet Revolution”.

Other books by Dr. Atkins are “Dr. Atkins Quick and Easy New Diet Cookbook” (1997), “Dr. Atkins Vita-nutrient Solution – Nature’s Answer to Drugs” (1998), “Dr. Atkins Age-Defying Diet Revolution” (1999), and “Atkins for Life” (2003). The cookbook has delicious low carb recipes to add to your low carb menu.
