Low Carb Bread Recipes – Do It Yourself

Are you at the stage in your reduced carb diet where you can add extra carbs, and you want bread but can’t find good low carb bread? Try baking your own. There are a lot of great low carb bread recipes available. You can find them in cookbooks, magazines, and on the internet. Most recipes for lower carb breads call for the use of a bread machine, some give both the oven baked and machine methods. There are also plenty of recipes for just oven baked lower carb breads.

This recipe for lower carbohydrate bread is delicious and easy.


  • 1/2 cup warm water 1 cup gluten flour
  • 1/2 cup cream 1 cup oat flour
  • 1tbs oil 2tsps yeast
  • 1 large egg 1tsp sugar (to feed yeast)

  • 2tsps yeast
  • 1tsp sugar (to feed yeast)

Starting with the water add ingredients given in order, cream, oil, egg, gluten flour, oat flour, yeast and sugar to your bread machine. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Use dough setting on the bread machine. Then take out and bake in a well greased loaf for 30 minutes.

There are 60 carb grams, 196 protein and 15 slices per loaf so there are about 4 carbs in each slice. This low carbohydrate bread is wonderful warm from the oven slathered with butter.
