You have decided that a low carb diet is for you. Maybe you’ve even gotten your doctor’s approval. Now you need to put together some menus that you can plan ahead and shop for low carb foods. If you need some help, you can go online and find sample low carb menus from all the popular lower carb diet plans like Atkins, South Beach and the Zone.

Dr. Atkins in his book “ Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution” gives a sample reduced carb menu for each of the four phrases of his diet. A typical low carbs menu from the induction phase of this diet might look like this: Breakfast: Southwestern omelet with tomato, avocado and ham.

Lunch: Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Dinner: Steak au Poivre, roasted asparagus mixed greens salad with lemon vinaigrette. Gelatin dessert made with sucralose. Snack: celery stuffed with herb cream cheese. There are lower carb menus for each of the other phases of the Atkins low carbohydrate diet.

When dining out, most restaurants do not have, low carb meals on their menus, but, you can ask to have the steak without the baked potatoes and have the waiter remove the bread from the table. Some chain restaurants like T.G.I Friday have several lower carb items on their menus.

Also the fast food chains of Burger King, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr all offer low carb burgers. Hardee’s, and Carl’s Jr also have low carbohydrate breakfast bowl’s that are delicious.
