Low Carb Bread – Easier Then Ever
One of the things people on lower carb diets miss the most is bread.
However, if you know where to look, you can find low carb bread, or reduced
carbohydrate bread mix.
If you are not into baking or just don’t have the time, you can buy low
carbs breads at some supermarkets and on the internet. Just type low carb
bread into your search engine, and you should find lots of links to sites
that sell the bread mixes and or sliced bread.
Atkins Nutritional, sells bread mix and loaves of sliced bread with 3 carbs,
per slice. Other sites sell low carb mixes, and corn bread mix. There are
dozens of sites that have wonderful recipes for breads including low carb
versions of rye bread, cheddar cheese and foccacia breads as well as muffins
of all varieties. You can even get low carb breadsticks, on line. Most on
line recipes call for the use of bread machines, although some give both
machine and oven baked versions of the same bread. There are also some
recipes for just the oven only method.
A company that sells regular bread ( high carb) Nature’s Own, in
supermarkets, also sells Reduced carb sliced bread on the internet. It isn’t
as low in carbs as some other breads, with 5 carb grams per slice, but the
taste and price is well worth the 2 extra carbs .Nature’s Own is $2.59 a
loaf as opposed to Atkins low carb sliced bread for $4.15 a loaf. So , you
can still have bead ,after the induction phase, of your diet, if you make
sure that you stay within your daily carb count.
