Low Carb Chili -  It’s So Simple To Prepare

Do you just have to have a bowl of chili, but are on a low carb diet? Never fear, there are dozens of low carb chili recipes in books and on the internet. They are made with most of the same ingredients you used before you started on your reduced carb diet, including beef, spices, tomatoes, onions and garlic.

One low carbs chili recipe uses chicken instead of ground meat and is cooked in a crock pot. You can prepare it in the morning, then put it in the crock pot, go about your business and come back home to a pot of chili lower in carbs than what you used to make but just as delicious.

If you like beans in your chili and they fit into your carb count, you can add black soy beans to this chili recipe. This 6 serving recipe has total net carbs of 16, with 2.6 carbs per serving.

A chili recipe found in “Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution” has 5.5 digestible carbs. (Digestible carbs are carbs that are digested and turned into glucose by your body.) This recipe for chili uses low sodium beef broth. Another lower carb recipe for chili uses ground meat and adds unsweetened chocolate and Worestershire sauce.

This recipe has about 5 grams of carbs per serving. As you can see, low carb eating does not have to mean boring. You can have most of the same foods you have always eaten, just with lower carb versions.
